During the first eighteen weeks we will focus on the textbook Exploring Creation with Astronomy (Apologia Series), and prepare for our field trip to the Challenger Learning Center Mission School in Woodstock, IL. Your children will be required to do four days of work at home (reading/notebook charting and once in a while a small activity). Class time will be spent reinforcing the chapter by a short discussion and answer time, and PROJECTS (I.e., make a pinhole viewing box, build Olympus Mons, learn how radar is used, etc.) Three of the eighteen weeks will be spent specifically on information the children will need in order to participate in the Challenger Mission.
The remainder of weeks will be spent on other topics relating to earth science - geology. Toward the end of first semester I will let you know which book you will need to purchase for the geology section of this class.

I am a wife and home schooling mom of five children; sixteen to five. We have home schooled since kindergarten using many different resources. This will be my second year teaching at this cooperative, and the second cooperative I have taught at. These elementary science books are an excellent choice to do in this type of setting. I look forward to watching your child grow in the knowledge of God’s creation through independent weekly work and group projects.
$4.00 per child/class, plus a one-time $20.00
