This class is for the student who took the Shurley English class last year at Heritage or who has had Shurley English previously. As the next Shurley level has much review and not many new concepts we will spend more time writing and expanding vocabulary by learning Greek and Latin Roots. I will be using the Institute for Excellence in Writing curriculum as well as English from the Roots Up. We will of course keep our grammar skills sharp by classifying sentences and daily grammar review with Daily Grams. Please keep your Student Workbook level 5 from last year as this will be used for reference. You will not be buying the Student Workbook for level 6.

Daily Grams Grade 6. $19.25 (includes answers in the back) or $11.50 (just the workbook without the answers) I recommend you buy the workbook that includes the answers in back as I will be asking you to grade the pages and letting me know how your child did. This class is designed for students who have not taken a Shurley English Course. In this class your child will work on grammar, diagramming sentences, vocabulary, writing, and sentence structure. This class will be taught at a very slow pace.
Required Materials: Shurley English Student Workbook Level 6, loose leaf paper and 3 ring binder.

(My youngest student was 75 years old.) I went back to banking for one and one-half years until I started home schooling my children again. I’m a Post Prison Missionary and teach economics on a daily basis to the women in my program. I look forward to being your children’s teacher.

Students will have an intensive study of grammar using the Shurley English Method Made Easy level 7. Students will cover a good foundation of speech, sentences, phrases and clauses. This class has a fair amount of homework.
