Description:
"Writing can be a pretty desperate endeavor, because it is about some of our deepest needs: our need to be visible, to be heard, our need to make sense of our lives, to wake up and grow and belong. It is no wonder if we sometimes tend to take ourselves perhaps a bit too seriously."
From bird by bird, Anne Lamott

Have you ever felt a story welling up inside of you but didn’t know how to let it out? This creative writing workshop offers help. Together, we will explore fiction and memoir writing basics such as character development, plot, setting, conflict and suspense, narrative voice, and manuscript mechanics. Participants will produce and share original writing in the safety of Christian community.

Quality writing may be produced in private, but it is polished in public. Therefore, a premium will be placed on learning how to love, encourage, and respect one another as we write from the heart, hone editing and critiquing skills, and learn to let our light shine through the written word.

About the Teacher:
Stacy has been a freelance writer since the early 1980’s and has published articles in magazines such as Moody and Decision. As a freelancer, she has done a variety of writing projects for small businesses, corporations, and non-profit organizations, and served for seven years as business consultant to a litigation practice specializing in civil rights and constitutional law. But, to date, her greatest work and privilege has been home educating Roger Dean and Ryan, her precious sons, for the past three years

Fee:
$5 per student per class fee with a $15 one-time copy and material fee due at registration.
