Subject: Home Arts
Class: Learn to Sew: Beginning Sewing
ages: 4th -- Up
Teacher: Karen Witek
Contact: 630.208.1348
Students: Minimum 4 - Maximum 8

Description:
We will cover basic sewing skills. New students will start with hand sewing and will then get introduced to machine stitching. New students will make a pair of pajama pants. Returning students will work from E-Z sew patterns. We are also making bereavement gowns and receiving blankets for babies at Cook County Hospital as a service project. Projects may be completed at home.

I’m really looking forward to this class. I got the idea when I was teaching six 6 year olds at our VBS. We did some sewing and I was amazed how much they enjoyed it and the community that formed because of the interaction.

CourseRequirements:
Portable sewing machine is needed to take this class. Fabric/thread/interfacing will need to be purchased

About the Teacher:
We've been homeschooling for five years. We were lead to homeschool after three serious trials. The most recent was seven years ago. I praise the Lord for carrying us through those tough times. I have a B.A. and have worked in technical sales before coming home to raise our boys.

Fee:
$3.00 per child/class plus $3.00 material fee.
