Come travel across the United States and learn the capitals, state flowers, state birds, points of interest, historical figures and much more. Mr. Bear will travel along with your child to each state. Each week Mr. Bear will go home with one student and he will be expected to return back to class with something from the state we are studying. The class will work to memorize state capitals. We occasionally may enjoy a short movie about the state. There will be weekly fun time, which will include a craft, a game, a story or a song We may occasionally try a food that pertains to the state we are studying ( example: Maine = blueberries/ Washington = apples). Please let me know if your child has any allergy to any food. This class will also work on telling time (if needed).
Each student will put together a binder of all the information they have learned to have for future reference.

Required Materials: one 2”-3” ring binder with 2 dividers, 2 red regular pockets folders and basic art supplies. (One folder will come home with your child and the other will be turned in to me with completed homework, notes, etc.) Clearly mark the folders with your child’s name. Crayons (16 count or larger), small scissors (rounded tip), markers (broad tip, washable) BIG glue stick, color pencils. Optional items: fine tip markers and art shirt. Note: I will provide liquid glue if any crafts require it.
$3.50 per child/class plus a one time $15.00 material fee this semester. |
