Description:
Are you interested in drama, but inexperienced? Do you have a hard time speaking up or breaking out of your shell? Then this is the drama class for you! Students will learn the basics of drama in a non-threatening environment. We will focus on projection, diction, basic stage movement, creativity onstage, and how to eliminate those nervous habits and idiosyncrasies. Every week will include a lesson and some fun exercises and games to reinforce the drama basics we are learning. The semester will culminate with a performance at a Heritage concert or Fine Arts event.

About the teacher:
Sheri Storer is entering her fifth semester as a teacher for Heritage. After earning a degree in Early Childhood Education at Eastern Illinois University, Ms. Storer traveled the country for three and a half years performing full time with the drama ministry Covenant Players. She works full time at the First Congregational Church in Huntley as the Director of Christian Education. Ms. Storer can often be seen entertaining at birthday parties as a Mad Scientist, leading theatrical mystery workshops with The Mystery Shop, and performing in community theater throughout the area. She is also the founder of FCC Players, a new theater company in Huntley
