Description:
John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress is a Christian classic. It was written in the 17th Century and is one of the most famous allegories of all time. The basic theme of the book is the Christian life, depicted in the journey of Christian, the main character, who leaves “the city of destruction” where he was born and sets his course for the “Celestial City”. The adventures along the way captivate the attention and give insight into the journey of every Christian. This class is based on a curriculum designed by Answers in Genesis (Ken Ham). We will be reading the entire text, but in a modern English version. Class time will include reading, discussion, Bible study, vocabulary and other activities. There will be approx. 2 – 4 hours of homework per week. This includes reading the text, answering study and comprehension questions, doing research, and writing short essays. History, science and language arts will also be incorporated into the class work.

Course Requirements:
1. The Bible (teacher prefers more literal translations, such as New American Standard, English Standard Version (this is a new version out since 2001), or The New King James). 2. The Pilgrim’s Progress in Modern English, John Bunyan (ISBN: 0882707574) Approx $15. The book can be ordered at your Christian Book store or on the internet at most booksellers websites.
